U4GM - 10 Best Events That Reward Caps in Fallout 76
If you’ve spent any time in Appalachia, you know just how important Fallout 76 caps are. Whether you're buying gear from vendors, fast-traveling across the map, or trading with other players, caps are a vital part of your survival. After hundreds of hours in the Wasteland, I’ve found that certain public events stand out for their ability to consistently reward players with caps—and some of them are also just plain fun.
Here’s my personal list of the 10 best events in Fallout 76 for earning caps. If you're looking to farm efficiently, or even just want a break from the daily grind, these events are worth prioritizing.
1. Radiation Rumble
This event is a caps goldmine. Every time it pops up in Emmett Mountain Disposal Site, I fast-travel there immediately. The number of enemies ensures tons of loot, and the event rewards frequently include high-value items you can sell to vendors. I've made over 1,000 caps in a single run by just looting and scrapping.
2. Eviction Notice
Found in the Savage Divide, this high-intensity event is another must-do. Not only does it offer a chance at rare plans and weapons, but the volume of enemies means more loot and more caps from vendor sales. Be sure to come prepared with a strong build and lots of ammo.
3. A Colossal Problem
This event takes more coordination and preparation, but the rewards are worth it. After taking down the Wendigo Colossus, you get legendary items, which you can either use or scrap for scrip and caps. I usually net a few hundred caps just from the gear I sell afterward.
4. Scorched Earth
Once you've launched a nuke at Fissure Site Prime, the Queen shows up. This event not only delivers high-tier loot but also generates tons of salvageable gear. I always end up over-encumbered—in a good way—and after selling off junk and weapons, I pocket 500+ caps easily.
5. Moonshine Jamboree
Taking place at the Sunday Brothers Cabin, this event is surprisingly profitable. While defending the vats, you'll rack up kills and gather loot. The real value comes from the rewards, which can include items that sell for a decent chunk of caps.
6. Test Your Metal
A fun, fast-paced event at the Metal Dome in Ash Heap. You battle waves of robots and get caps directly as part of the reward. Plus, the event is easy enough to do solo or in a small team, making it a convenient caps farming opportunity.
7. Line in the Sand
One of my go-to events in Fort Defiance. It's often overlooked, but it offers a steady stream of enemies and valuable loot. The turret defense mechanic also makes it interesting and rewarding if you like more tactical events.
8. Uranium Fever
Set in Blackwater Mine, this event is perfect for quick caps. The enemies drop decent gear, and the event doesn’t take long to complete. I recommend using a high DPS build to speed things up and maximize loot.
9. Encryptid
This event can be chaotic, but the chance to defeat the Imposter Sheepsquatch is well worth it. You’ll earn rare items and plenty of junk to sell. With the right team, it's a reliable source of caps and XP.
10. Distinguished Guests
Although not as combat-heavy, this Whitespring event is great for farming caps in a different way. Completing the mini-tasks for the gala gives you decent rewards, which often include sellable items. It's a chill event I like to do when I want a break from constant fighting.
From personal experience, public events are one of the best ways to build up your Fallout 76 caps stash. I’ve been playing since launch, and while daily quests and treasure maps help too, nothing compares to the consistency and thrill of these large-scale events. They’re also a great way to connect with other players and build out your social circle in-game.
For players looking to boost their caps quickly or gear up without spending time on the grind, some choose to buy Fallout 76 Caps PS4 no account needed. While I’ve preferred earning them myself, I understand the appeal—especially if you’re short on time or just getting started.
No matter your approach, these events will help you stay prepared, stocked, and wealthy in the Wasteland. See you out there, Vault Dwellers!
