Is it worth DIY-ing a token contract or just using a generator?

Honestly, I’ve been staring at smart contract docs for three days and it’s getting a bit tricky. I want to launch a small project on Solana (maybe Base too?), but I’m terrified of messing up the gas optimization or leaving a security hole.

Every dev I talk to gives me a different answer, and some of the quotes I got for custom coding are wild. Has anyone here used those "no-code" generators lately? I’m looking for something that feels solid but doesn't require me to be a senior dev to launch. Would love to hear some real experiences before I dive in.

Hey! I totally feel you. I went through the exact same headache last month. At first, I tried to manually edit some templates I found on GitHub, but honestly, the gas fees were a nightmare and the whole process was just stressing me out.

I eventually decided to stop overcomplicating things and just chill out. I figured, why burn out before the project even launches? I ended up using a tool called create token https://20lab.app/generate/ to handle the heavy lifting. It was actually a pretty smooth vibe — I just picked the features I needed for my SPL token, and it handled the gas optimization automatically.

My advice? Don’t get stuck in the technical weeds if you don't have to. It’s much better to just relax and enjoy the creative side of your project. If you want a solid starting point without the coding drama, that team really knows their stuff. Good luck with the launch!
