U4GM - The Complexity and Tedium of Map Rolling in POE 2

In Path of Exile 2, managing "poe 2 currency" is heavily influenced by the complexity of map rolling and modifiers in the endgame. Unlike its predecessor, POE 2 requires players to engage in a convoluted process involving tablets, multiple map rolls, and corruptions to optimize maps for loot. The only truly valuable map modifier currently is the rarity of items found, which is multiplicative with player rarity and massively impacts currency gains.

This complexity makes the endgame feel overwhelming and tedious. Players must roll maps repeatedly to find the right modifiers, augment tablets, and apply various effects to maximize returns. This contrasts sharply with POE 1, where instilling maps was a simple, quick process. Many players express frustration with the additional steps and the lack of meaningful variety in map mods, as only prefixes seem to matter. A suggested improvement is to make all map mods contribute to quantity, rarity, and pack size, similar to POE 1, which would reduce tedium and improve loot quality for average players. Simplifying map rolling and making more modifiers valuable could revitalize the endgame experience.
